Debenhams Winter Style Challenge

Debenhams have launched an exciting competition which involves creating a mood board (using clothes from their store) for two winter outfits. One has to be a stylish daytime outfit to keep you warm and cosy and the other outfit is a winter party look. Each outfit had to be below £250. If you win, you receive £500 of Debenhams vouchers and the two runners up will win a £50 voucher each.

Winter daytime outfit

Coat - £44.50 || Top - £45 || Bag - £22.40 || Hat - £9.95 || Boots - £38.50 || Jeans - £19.20 || Mittens - £11.20 || Belt - £5
TOTAL = £195.75
I think this outfit is perfect for a day shopping or going for an afternoon walk. I fell in love with this tartan bag and paired it with this pretty coat in the same print. Peter pan collars are so adorable and change a plain, white tshirt into something a lot more stylish. How awesome are these boots?! They'd look great with a pair of black skinny jeans. I thought the mittons and beanie would keep you feeling warm and cosy on an afternoon walk. I love this casual but warm outfit and it's something I would definitely wear!

Ultimate party outfit

Skirt - £28 || Top - £14.99 || Shoes - £75 || Jacket - £50 || Lipstick - £15 || Clutch - £16
TOTAL = £198.99
I'm not exactly a party person and I don't really feel comfortable in wearing tight dresses or glittery tops. So I decided on making this outfit a little more on the casual side which would be perfect for a meal out or cocktails with the girls. This skirt is absolutely beautiful! I love how it's still a short, pretty skirt but the sheerness of it makes it completely original, ensuring you'd stand out from the crowd. I thought it would look awesome paired with some black heels, a dark lip and a jewelled clutch. I really like this textured top and the necklace just adds to its chicness. Evenings can be very chilly so I decided on incorporating this snug jacket into my look.

I realise there's a lot of black in these two looks, but dark colours are perfectly acceptable to wear in the colder months (or at least that's what I think!) Good luck to everyone else who's entered! You can read more about the competition here although its closing tomorrow!

College/Autumn Haul

I went shopping yesterday for college clothes for the colder months coming up. I was a little bit hesitant to go into Zara at first as I haven't really liked their summer clothes but once I went in I fell in love with this combined top. It has a flower print on the front and a tartan print on the back which is just so unique and quirky. I also bought a black jumper because I've been looking for a nice, warm one for ages now. On a whim, I tried on these River Island leggings thinking they'd be unflattering on me, but I actually love them!! I feel a little self conscious wearing them with the black jumper though as the jumper is cropped and I'm not used to wearing leggings. However they're comfortable and yet warm and I can't wait to wear them with boots. I've been on the hunt for a college bag that's big enough to fit plenty of A4 paper and folders in, but have so far been unsuccessful until I stumbled upon this beauty from Accessorize. Seeing as black goes with everything I think this was an investment worth making! I love my H&M top as I've admired them for a while. It's quite a loose fit but so comfy and casual! Inspired by Olivia getting these rings and the increasing hype over them on Instagram, I picked up these inexpensive midi rings from River Island. I love them!

What have you bought recently? What was your favourite item from my haul?

Haul! Haul! Haul!

finger top ring - river island // jumper - topshop // jeans - topshop // cami top - topshop

Heya!
So i went shopping and picked up some new bits and pieces. This was all bought with birthday money :-) When i go shopping i'm not usually very successful and i don't usually purchase anything as i am very indecisive. However, it was a happy and successful day!!! Yippee!!

01- These finger top rings are gorgeous! i really like how they feel on and i think they look super pretty. I had heard about them on Instagram and thought i must get them!

02- We all love Topshop frilly socks and these are such pretty colours so i had to get them! I love how pastel they are and will go with pretty much anything and they always look cute with rolled up jeans or skirts.

03- All i can say about this jumper is i am in love! I know it's still summer and hot but as soon as i saw this i wanted it! I will be wearing it a lot this winter and i am excited for it to get colder so i can. I love the material as well, it's not itchy in the slightest and it is nice a thick, yet airy.

04- Now i don't usually buy tops like these, but i really do like this. It's a cute little top that i can wear with anything, literally. It's easy to just pop on and go with a baggy cardigan.

05- I have wanted a top like this is sooo long! I literally love this style. The cut out shoulder tops seem to be quite in style at the moment and i just love how they look and hang on the arms. I also like how casual yet smart they are and it can be worn to many different occasions, from shopping to a meal out :-)

06- Leigh jeans, well what can i say, i love them. I have also wanted some acid jeans for a while now as well so these were a great buy

What have been your favourite clothes purchases recently?

London Haul

Rimmel London - Round and Round the Garden         &         Rimmel London - Marshmallow Heaven

 Cable-knit jumper | Studded jumper | Floral skater skirt | Zip-up skirt

Yesterday, I travelled to Westfields shopping centre in London with my mum for the day. I've never visited before so I was slightly overwhelmed at how huge it was. Urban Outfitters and Topshop were both absolutely gigantic and full to the brim of lovely clothes! I had a really fun day and thought I'd show you the items that I picked up whilst I was there.

All clothing items are from H&M, which is slightly unusual for me as I tend not to think of it as one of my favourite shops because nothing really stands out to me. However, I loved the look of this slouchy Cable-knit jumper as it was perfect for lazy days spent at home but could also be dressed up with pale blue jeans. The grey studded jumper caught my eye in the divided section and I then found the beautiful floral skater skirt nearby and thought the two looked great together when I tried them on. The floral skirt reminded me of something you'd find in Brandy Melville and I loved how the studded jumper toughened up the girly skirt. Lastly, I purchased the skirt with the zip up the front as oxblood is my favourite colour and I thought it was really cute.

Before we left, I made a quick trip into Superdrug and bought two nail polishes. I've been experimenting with different nail polish brands lately and I've taken a liking to Rimmel so I picked up a couple of the colours that caught my eye.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I purchased in London yesterday!

Print Perfection

I've recently become addicted to prints - graphic prints, boho prints, grunge prints, floral prints. Basically, absolutely any print. I thought I'd show you a few of my favourite items that I'd love to get my hands on. 9/10 of these items are from Topshop or Urban Outfitters because their prints never fail to disappoint me and also because I have an unhealthy obsession with their clothes.

(from left to right)

001: I absolutely love these wave print joggers. They'd be perfect for chilled days paired with some converses and a cute tee.

002: This dress has such a gorgeous pattern and although quite dark, is balanced well with the cinched waist and short sleeves for a girly finish. It would look great with a leather jacket!

003: I've seen this strappy sun top in the shops for a while now and just think its an ideal cover up for a beach day abroad or on one of England's rare summer heat waves. It has a loose, flowy fit so would be perfect for keeping cool, yet still being practical.

004: I.am.in.love! This bohemian playsuit is absolutely gorgeous. I desperately want this in my wardrobe!

005: I stumbled across this daisy bralet on Wanelo a couple of weeks ago. I adore the red, black and blue pattern. Again, it's quite dark and revealing, but would look amazing with a black, high wasted skater skirt and a denim jacket, making it instantly wearable.

006: I adore Cath Kidston and so I had to have something floral in this post! I can imagine styling this tucked into some denim shorts, tights and boots for spring.

007: Okay, this may not suit me or be my style, but I think the print, shape and fit of this dress is fabulous! I also really like the collar and buttons, plus, the three quarter length sleeves really make it stand out.

008: Another Urban Outfitters playsuit I desperately want! I'd style this with an oversized denim jacket, combat boots and statement jewellery.

009: I'm obsessed with Keeping Up With The Kardashians, so when I first heard about Kylie and Kendall's clothing line last year, I was so excited! I love this cute little, bandeau top and think Kylie rocks it amazingly here with the military jacket.

010: I've always loved fairisle prints and thanks to Topshop I've really been loving dresses lately, so this dress seems like the ultimate want. I also like how Topshop's cinched-waist dresses fit me.

I hope you've enjoyed this post. Let me know in the comments if you like any of my picks. Sorry for the absence again but we are still alive and we'll have some new posts up soon.

Shopping Purchases

Happy New Year! I'm a little bit late, but oh well. So I went shopping today and finally bought some items. I've been shopping a couple of times since the after Christmas sales have started, but haven't been able to find anything worth buying, but today I was in a good mood and found some great things.

I went into Cath Kidston and immediately found this gorgeous paper. I'm a huge fan of their Kempton Rose range and I also wanted to find some gorgeous paper to decorate my jar like Olivia blogged about here. It's also double sided, but with a blue version of the red pattern which is lovely. I found a set of Cath Kidston postcards with some of my favourite patterns on which I knew would be perfect for writing thank you letters to my family for my Christmas presents. I also bought some Kempton Rose gift tags for wrapping up future birthday presents.

The first thing I bought was this gorgeous skirt from Primark. I don't usually wear skirts, but recently I've been admiring them a lot and wanted to buy one. I'm really excited to wear this skirt with tights and boots in the coming weeks. It has a really unique pattern that I love.

I've been debating recently over whether I should get this grey dress or the purple one but today I decided on this one. I tried it on in the changing rooms and it looked really good with my black tights and boots. I did hesitate with this dress because I thought it was too dark and a little bit hard to style, but it looks great with dark tights. I plan to accommodate this dress into my spring and summer wardrobe with a white wash denim waist coat and a brown bag, but for now my leather jacket will do.

Let me know what you think of my purchases and what you reckon I could style them with. I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks for reading!

Wishlist - Topshop style

Topshop Autumn Wishlist 2012

Oh my god, can i just buy the whole of Topshop? please? I thought i would make a wishlist as they are so fun to do, yet they make you feel extremely poor :-(. I have bundled together 7 items which i wish to purchase, emphasis on the 'wish'.

001- a velvet skirt, i repeat a velvet skirt, oh my, i want. They are so lovely, i mean look at them. I have always been unsure of wearing skirts now, especially skater skirts, i don't know really, its just self consciousness i guess, but instagram has made me explore. I love the dark rich red of this skirt, i think a plain black would drown out my skin as i am so pale, so i would want a colour that gives myself a bit of colour. There is so much i could wear it with as well, i will be making a purchase asap!

002- I love this jumper, not only because of the studs but because of how unique it is. I also love the colour as it is a good grey, which would go with just about everything. Furthermore i like the way the studs are spread out on the jumper, it's so cute

003- I really, really need a new fashionable white shirt. I saw this one and instantly loved it because it's one of those that you can wear with just about anything

004- i'm not normally into dark nail varnish, but this is an exception, i love it. It so gorgeous and gives a winter feel.

005- Ok. i'm in love. I have already got some studded boots, which i adore, but i really want some ankle boots. These are just perfect, a must buy.

006- Socks, oh socks, i wouldn't mind a pair of these in my stocking for Christmas :-)! I love all of these styles of socks, purely because they go with absolutely anything. They are quite expensive but totally worth it.

007- I just can't get enough of sparkly nail varnish. I already have a pink sparkle varnish from topshop, amazing, even though i don't like how long it takes to take it off. It seriously is like super glued to my nail i swear, but it looks fantastic, and really want to try this silver and it feels Chrismassy as well.

Sophie's Topshop Wishlist

Mock week is finally over! I think I've failed most of my exams, but oh well, they're only mocks. And I have no homework over the weekend so I intend on being really lazy, yay! I think Olivia and I are going to be posting an awful lot over the next few days and weeks! We have so many post ideas, but the past couple of weeks have been so stressful and busy.

I've compiled a few items from Topshop that I have my eyes on at the moment. However, I've told myself that I can't spend any money on myself until after Christmas. I have so many gifts to buy this year but just not enough money so I'm trying to save! We'll see how well this goes...Hopefully someone will see this post and take pity on me by buying me everything? Deal?

001: I'm a huge sucker for aubergine/oxblood clothes at the moment  In fact, I have been obsessed for over a year now! I just really want some simple jumpers I can wear with basically anything. This jumper is also meant to be really slouchy which is a huge bonus!

002: I also really love this jumper. I love the pattern and the contrast between the black and white. I'd love to accessorize with a bright, colourful scarf, like my mustard one I wear way too often.

003: Topshop nail polishes are the best, and this green one is no exception. I've actually been eyeing this up for a while, but even £5 is a splurge for me at the moment. Although it's not typically an autumn/winter colour, I'm sure I can transition it into spring and summer.

004: I love snoods. I don't own any, but I wish I did! The dark colours on this snood just really appeals to me. I know Christmas colours are traditionally red and green, but for some reason, I find this snood very seasonal.

005: Aw, just aw. Isn't this skirt so cute, and girly? I've wanted a little, white skirt for a while now. They're just so pretty and feminine. This skirt would actually look lovely paired with the oxblood jumper!

006: Yeah, I'm so hipster. For some reason, the ugliness of this bag just makes me love it even more tehe!

007: Um...I just really like backpacks I guess. I've wanted this bag for so long now! This would be perfect for shopping trips or days out at the weekend. I reckon it would just go with any outfit!

008: Last, but definitely not least, is this gorgeous sleeveless jacket. I tried it on in the shop, and I fell in love. Although it looked great, and was so warm and snugly, my Mum was a slightly reluctant to spend £55 on it...sad times. However, I still love it!!!

Sophie's OOTD: 1, 2, 3

Scarf: M&S
Shirt: h&m
Top: h&m
Shorts: h&m
Tights: Primark

Hello! Just want to apologise firstly for the rubbish photo quality, but it's the best I could do. I wore this outfit this morning when I went to a local craft fair with my parents. I love this time of year, when the community gets together and inspire others with their beautiful Christmas gifts etc. I saw so many lovely things today that I wish I had the talent to make. Unfortunately, I'm not very creative. I'm so jealous of Olivia's talents!

Anyways, onto the outfit. I adore this mustard scarf my mum got me for Christmas last year and this is the first time I've worn it this autumn. I love the contrast between the mustard and the grey, of my tshirt. I bought these tights along with a star pattern last year, but have never worn them before. I actually didn't mean to wear all of h&m by the way, haha.

I bought these beautiful little postcards at my favourite stall. I bought these beauties for 50p each, yay! I got chatting to the woman who designed them and she said she bases all her work on what her three teenage daughters say and do. I can't wait to put these postcards in the spare picture frames I have lying around.
This one is probably my favourite! I recommend checking out Caroline Kirton's website, because she has so many beautiful designs!
